In my teens and twenties I was never much of a lotion person.  My daily moisturizing routine included a few dabs of tinted facial moisturizer and then MAYBE a quick slathering of the legs with a dry skin lotion I happen to pick up on sale at the drug store.  More often than not, I would forgo moisturizing altogether.

When I turned 30 I became a bit more conscience of my facial routine but I still routinely neglected the rest of my body.  Then one day I discovered the best moisture, ever –  La Prairie Caviar.   It is decadent, and unfortunately comes with a decant price tag.  And while a little goes a long way, I quickly realized that it was not the most cost effect potion to use or the most convenient.  It’s not like I can run to my local Walgreens at 10 pm and pick a jar if I run out.

Needless to say, after some trial and error I have a found a few great drug store brands that make my skin feel almost as great as La Prairie’s offerings without spending all of my lunch money (air and Top Ramen for lunch every day gets a bit stale).

Hydration

From left to right Palmer’s Original Cocoa Butter,  Nivea Body Q10, Jergens Original Scent, H2O+ Sea Salt Hydrating Body Gloss

My rountine:

After my morning shower, I like to spritz myself before drying off with H2O+’s Hydrating Body Gloss.  It has a clean smell and locks in my bodies moisture. My skin stays silky smooth and well hydrated all day.

I then use a pump or two of Palmer’s on my hips, thighs and stomach.  Sadly, I have stretch marks and it has helped minimize their appearance.

At night before going to bed I use Nivea’s Q10 on my legs, buttocks and upper arms.  It helps with the wiggle and jiggle.  It also helps smooths out, but defiantly not eliminate, my lumps and bumps.  If anyone has a recommendations for a firming/anti-cellulite cream let me know.  I’m always on the lookout for a good one.

I use Jergens everywhere else.  I love the smell of Jergens Original Scent. It moisturizes well and it is not greasy.

While I still treat myself to a La Prairie products every so often I have found that these products keep my skin soft, supple and flake free.
