Now more than ever there is an increasing demand for more healthful options on restaurant menus.  This demand has created a market for healthy fast fresh food.  Protein Bar and Lyfe Kitchen are my go to places for lunch when dinning with a companion and I want to keep it healthy.  These two choice are first-rate because the ingredients are fresh and the calories are modest.  However, there are days when I’m on run and I just want to pick up something quick, not wait for it to be prepared, to eat back at home or the office.

Enter…Snap Kitchen.  I was introduced to Snap Kitchen by a blogging colleague last year and have been obsessed with the concept ever since.  Snap Kitchen is a take-away store with chef-driven meals prepared with the high quality ingredients that are local and organic. They offer  a wide selection of meals, snacks, and cold-pressed juices that are made fresh daily, portion controlled, and nutritionally balanced. Genius.

What I love?  Their meals come in different sizes.  Some days I’m more hungry than other days; I can size up or down based on my appetite.  This means I’m eating until I’m satisfied not stuffed or worse, still hungry searching for something else to eat.  Another bonus, depending how long your browse, you can be in and out in less than 5 minutes.

I’ve tried a variety of their meals and all have been really tasty.  I do have my favorites, the bison quinoa hash and the beef Chimichurri are defiantly  my go-to selctions.

Hash

The bison quinoa hash is a hearty serving of cooked ground bison and quinoa with peppers, onions, beans and spices.  It’s flavorful and a tad spicy.  A small is 320 calories and a very filling lunch.

Beef

The beef chimichurri is also really tasteful.  The beef is cooked rare so it does not dry out or become overcooked when reheated.  The chimichurri is spot on..lots of parsley and garlic  The beef comes pated on a  a bed of spinach and carrots

Snap Kitchen is in my arsenal of places that helps me keep my diet stay on track.  Their food is fresh, the process is fast and the food is delicious.  I guarantee if you try it,  it will end up in your healthy eating arsenal too.

Snap Kitchen provided me with sample meals, juice and snacks to try.  I all opinions are my own.
