These are some of my new find…(running, diet and life related)

1. Coconut oil. I LOVE THIS STUFF. Its like butter, but better. I’ve been using it for a while now actually so its not really new to me. I also recommend Avocado Oil. Both rock as a deep hair conditioner.

2. Agave ..it is sweet, not artificial and low on the glycemic index.

3. Peoria Packing..for all of my protein needs. I love this place, skirt steaks for less than 4 bucks a pound! I’ve bought everything from salt pork to skirt steaks to breakfast sausage. Everything has been great (except the ground turkey, it was too finely ground). They do have some things that might freak out a veggie. Even I was a bit eeked out by the pig snouts. But my next BBQ I plan on having a pigs head …just kidding….well maybe not.

4. Sport Tracks..Not only is it free, its pretty darn cool software. It integrates with my Garmin, I track my food, weight, mood, injury, illness, sleep all in one place. I still use DP to look up calories but I keep my food logs in the notes section. http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/

5. Beer Can Chicken..its ymmmy and super easy (well unless you burn it like I did tonight). Recipe: 1 chicken, 1 can o’ beer. Any beer will do, cheaper the better. Rub with your favorite bbq rub. Weber makes a tasty Kickn’ Chicken Rub. Cook 1-2 hours depending on size of bird on low flame grill or 325 on a gas grill.

16 weeks till the 1/2..training has officially started. Here’s hoping it not a 120 degrees on August 2nd.

Good luck with the training! What plan are you following, or is it homegrown?

The chicken looks delish, and I’m going to look into that exercise tracking stuff. That looked pretty interesting. THANKS!

I think you should do a “Lord Of The Flies,” Pig head. That should get your guests talking LOL
