Dontcha just hate it when you get in a groove and it all falls to pieces because you do something stooopid!

Well this week I found my “Give a Damn”..I was cranking on my training Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday Mother Nature decided to be a complete bitch and downpour on me while ridding my bike home from work. In an attempt to get out of traffic (I couldn’t see well in the rain), I decided to cut down an alley inlet and get on the sidewalk…yeah smooth move there exlax…I didn’t notice the curb and flipped on my bike. In a downpour, business suit with bike shorts underneath (phew) I spilled.

I got up quickly, determined that I did not have brain damage, I was not bleeding and got on the bike and peddled home.

I got home to the dog having chewed the carpet. Lovely. After scolding her, taking her out to finish peeing (yeah she peed when I scolded her)I realized that I was really sore.

Well its Friday, and I’m still sore but its getting better. It feels like someone punched me in the armpits about 100 time and I have a good bruise on the side of my knee. I think I’ll be better by Monday. I’m going to slack this weekend and repeat this week of training. I have some flexibility and can always pull my 14 mile run at the end of training.

My food find of the week…

Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Tortillas. They are not gluten free but they are wheat free, which I have the most problem with. They have mega fiber ..5 grams.

I made pizza out of them …so good. Okay, its not like I was diggin’ in to some great Chicago pizza but in all honesty it was good.

I took 2 tortillas (150 calories each)

On each I spread some organic pasta sauce (I buy Muir Glen or Classico Organic..thus no HFCS) (35 calories ..I don’t like a lot of sauce)

sprinkled a few crushed red pepper

sprinkled a little garlic powder

added 1/4 c of lf mozzarella (80 calories)

sprinkled a little goat cheese (20-40 calories)

I baked the tortilla for about 3 mins…then put on ingredients..then baked until the cheese was melted an bubbly.

I finished with salt.

about 300 calories each..

I ate 2 for a 600 calorie dinner.

Whole grain+ dairy + veggie= 300 calories of goodness!

You could add fresh herbs..veggies, lf sausage…what ever you like on your pizza.

Hope you feel better soon, and I’m glad that it wasn’t a more serious injury which it very well could have been when flipping your bike! You’ll be back on track with your 13.1 plan in no time.

How’s your heel holding up with the increased running?
