So I bought a $25 for $50 Gap Groupon  (I know, I know…I’m guilty of shopping…Bit Me  I’m only human okay).

So I had to use my Groupon by November and I could really use a new pair of jeans that I can tuck into boots or  wear with heels.  So off to the GAP I went.

Gap sells the following jeans:

Always Skinny
Forever Skinny
Slouchy Skinny
Real Straight
Curvy
Sexy Boot
Perfect Boot
Long & Lean
Cropped
Boyfriend
Deconstructed Boyfriend
Vintage Flair

So I ended up trying on 6 pairs of jeans.  Out of 6 pairs, ONE pair fit.

I had a 14 and 16 of each of the following:

Always Skinny
Forever Skinny
Real Straight

WHAT THE @#$%^&*

So I couldn’t get the Always Skinny jeans buttoned without having to lie down on flat surface and smoosh my fat above the waist in the size 14.  I had plumbers ass in the size 16s.

I then tried on size 14 Real Straight jean.  BIG OLE’ WTF!!!  These jeans were tighter than the Always Skinny Jeans.  My legs looked like denim encased sausages.  One would think they would fit looser than than the skinny jeans, no?  The 16s were no more forgiving..

I was going to scrap the whole Groupon thing for jeans and just go buy some new underwear at gap body when I I though why not at least try the  Forever Skinny jeans.  So I tried on a pair of 16s and they fit, but if I sat or did some deep knee bends they would stretch out. So I ended up going with the size 14s. My ass is a little smashed in them at the moment but I’m hoping that a few pounds lost will solve that problem.

I’m still perplexed in the sizing at The GAP (I can fit into a size 12 and probably a size 10 in their deconstructed Boyfriend jeans, my 14s are falling off me after a few hours) but I’m thankful that The GAP makes such a wide range of jeans to fit a wide range of body types.

FYI…Oprah totally has it right, everyone needs a fan when taking a photos.

Thank you windy city for you natural fan.

Jeans are so hard to fit. Levis just started offering three versions of each size, after research into women’s varying body-sizes found significant differences in curvature. Another alternative is jeggings.

Glad you found a pair that fit.

I hear you on Gap sizing. I’m assuming Old Navy is the same way. After 2 hours, I can pull ON jeans on and off without buttoning.

LOL, you do look like a fan was blowing your hair 🙂 And jeans shopping is THE WORST. I’m impressed that you had a 1/7 ratio…oh the joys of being a woman, right?

I hear ya, sister. Why is sizing so messed up? And it’s not just Gap–I find this to be true many, many places! Well, despite all that you look great in your skinny jeans!
