After a great yet exhausting work trip to DC then a weekend away with friends in New Buffalo, Michigan I have a holiday hangover.

I think I might have surpassed some sort of record in beef and cheese consumption this weekend. No better time to get back on track today.

Tomorrow starts the Green City Markets Locavore Challenge. I’ve always wanted to try to only eat local so I’m going to try it this year.

Check it out: Locavore

Could you eat local where you live? Do you even look where your food is made?

What is it with long weekends and overeating? I did the same thing.

I try to buy local when I can, but I must admit that most of the time I buy what is cheapest.

I try to support local beers.

Vegetables and meat, I go for the cheapest.

I have trouble supporting the local farmer’s markets only because D recognizes his customers from the store, and in some cases he recognizes the produce. So I have a lack of trust.
