Its almost October 1 and Halloween is right around the corner.  I refuse to be a  hooker cop, hooker nurse or any of the other slutoween idea that costume manufactures think of and sell.  I like original costumes.  Something with the depth and quality as oh, say a washer and dryer.

Charlie has already turned down my idea of Jane Fonda and Richard Simmons.  Which I think would be awesome!  Him, not so much.  So I will continue to ponder.

What are some of your favorite Halloween Costume?

Love the washer and dryer!! I also love Halloween and spend a lot of time stressing out about what to be.

Love the washer and dryer! Very clever.

Every year I try to come up with complementary couple-costumes. Like you, my wife doesn’t want anything sleazy.

Our favorite, two years ago, was a baseball reference: She was Manny Ramirez (with dreadlocks wig and Dodgers shirt) and I was Joe Torre (Dodgers shirt). Everyone at the NYC Halloween Parade recognized our characters and shouted approval.

I’m still searching for ideas for this year. I’m thinking maybe cowboy Woody and cowgirl Jess from “Toy Story 2” with homemade costumes.

Please share any good ideas you find!

    This is so clever.
You totally rocked it !! This costume is a winner.
I have not dressed up in ages.
But two of my favorite costumes have been a girl and a guy dressed all in black, with a lampshade on their head that had a bulb and it was turned on ! As a belt they had the electricity cord…
The other was two hot guys dressed as a suitcase.
Maybe it wasnt that clever, but the guys were hot.
Oh! and last year I saw a blogger dress up as George Washington! she had white powder in her hair… loved it.

Love it! I’m totally with you–creative beats slutty when it comes to Halloween costumes. Last year I was Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. I’m not sure what I’ll be this year, but it won’t involve “sexy” in the title!
