My weekend started with 1.5 hours of traffic on the Kennedy.  Okay actually my weekend started with a bit of weakness.  I had a $10 store credit at the Talbots Outlet in Park Ridge.  Let me start by saying Talbots is one of my favorite stores, thus the Talbots Outlet is a little slice of heaven.  Deals were abound there.  And I spent more than $10 in store credit.  Bite me, I’m only human and I am wearing thin people.  Not to mention I was at a time of weakness; I was tired from being up at 5 am as well as two days of meetings working my noggin’ like Calculus II in college.

For 66 bucks I got the following:  1 pair of jeans (mine are straight fit, not signature fit), 1 cream 3/4 length sleeve v neck sweater,  boyfriend cardigan in black, the picnic dress,   a fun costume jewelry ring, a scarf (see below) and 2 belts.  Nothing was more than 10 dollars!  Motherload.  Best deal was the picnic dress,  I paid $7.90 for it.    I passed up on a few items but I’m thinking about going back.  THINKING…people…Just THINKING!

After my trip to Talbots I spent 1.5 hour in rush hour traffic.  I’m sooooooooo glad my commute to work consists of a mile walk daily.

I came home and quickly changed to go to dinner.  We decided on Chilapan.  It was a bit chilly but we dinned alfresco.  It was delicious!!!  It might be my new favorite BYOB restaurant.

We had chips and guacamole, delish.  I had tortilla soup which warmed me up.  As an entree I had the slow roasted pork special.  It was slow roasted with chipolte peppers and pineapple.  It had a really unique flavor.  And the pickled onion slaw that it came with was a great compliment.  We finished off dinner splitting a warm chocolate tamale (complimentary because the service was a bit slow).

With a belly full of refined Mexican and wine I went to bed.  Ah Bed, how I love my bed with clean sheets.

Saturday started with a home project.  We mounted a new TV in the bedroom.  Were getting a new Dish Network box with all kinds of fancy features so Charlie upgraded our TV to be compatible.

After the TV was hung, I went to the garden to get what might be our final harvest of the year.  I’ve got a lot of green Roma tomatoes that I hope ripen.  I’m also hoping I can replant the pepper plants into a pot over the winter.

We sneaked in a run in the brisk fall weather and then got ready and headed to Lakeview Oktoberfest.

Apparently the key to getting attendees to a dying festival in Chicago is to have Groupon for it.  The place was mobbed!  16 Candles was playing and we waited in line for over an hour for a bratwurst.  As tasty as it was, it wasn’t worth an hour wait.

We ended the night with a night cap with a friend at Tiny Lounge (it was my first time at the new location, I kind of missed the old locale).  My drink was really tasty.  I must make a point of going back and eating there.  After our night cap (the live music drew us in)  we had another night cap and late night snack  at Glunz Bavarian Haus.  I have not been in the place in years, and I must make a point of going back for dinner.

Sunday was just a lazy day.  I had a hangover headache headache and  I only got out of my pj’s to bathe and put on clean pj’s.  Highlight of the day, I made bacon for breakfast while watching NFL Gameday Countdown.

Okay, first of all you totally deserve to do a little shopping. And whoa, I can’t believe you got all that for $60! Second of all, that pork dish looks freaking amazing. Last of all, all day pj days are the best.

I am IN LOVE with your bag! And what a haul – I had similar luck at H&M this weekend. And I never find what I’m actually looking for when I’m shopping. Weird.

E…I think I paid something like 20 Euros for it. At the time the conversion rate was something like .89 to the dollar.

I have so many great thing that I bought when I was working over there.
