As of today, the highlight of our mini-vacation was visiting Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello on Saturday. We rented a car and drove though beautiful Virgina. The route we took there was beautiful especially with the fall leaves, farms and rolling hills.
Once there, we walked the grounds, visited Jefferson’s grave and toured his house. I’m always astonished at how revolutionary our founding fathers were. I know times were different and the age of Enlightenment lead to progress and discovery but Jefferson was a horticulturist, political leader, architect, archaeologist, paleontologist, musician, inventor, and founder of the University of Virginia. How many people can you say that about in today’s times?

The drive alone in Virgina is worth it. Really beautiful.
Wow, I’ve never been there but I’d love to go. It looks beautiful.
And I LOVE that jacket! Did you replace the buttons yourself? It looks great.
