I thought long and hard. Then I thought hard and long. What challenge am I up for?

365 more days of No Shopping?
6 Months of No Shopping?
No Shopping until I meet my goal weight?
Shopping Reward Structure for weightloss?
Setting a date for my goal weight?
Setting a goal for races?
Blog what I eat every day?

Well I’ll tell ya what it’s not number one, or number two, actually it’s none of the above.

Here is what I’ve got…

#1 Run for shopping, $1.00 for each mile I run. Money accrues and will be based off of my Garmin and cannot exceed 20 miles a week (accrued money not running). The more I run the more I have to spend. (okay in theory I’m paying myself thus the limit). Purchases can be made after 10% milestones. So 171lbs, 154lbs and then Goal! (gifts and rewards do not apply). I’m aspiring run 1000 miles this year. It’s 20 miles a week. Four five mile runs a week.

#2 Reach my goal weight of…….150 lbs. I’m aspiring to weigh 140 this year, but I will be happy with 150. I know I can maintain at 150. My weight watchers weight is 168, only 3 lbs lower than my next 10%.

#3 Train for a big race, like the Chicago Marathon. I’m aspiring to run a marathon this year. I have some times I’d like to crack this year. I know I have a sub 2:30 half in me some where. Perhaps running downhill with a tailwind, but it’s in me.

I’ll be adding new content to my blog this year too. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

My challenge will begin next Wednesday, December 15th (yeah I’m going shopping this weekend).

Thanks for reading.

    Brilliant!
I think it’s a great idea to pay yourself for running… I could actually benefit from that idea myself.

I’m planning to run 2 marathons and a relay in the spring, I should be able to get to goal in time for a fall marathon if I don’t eat like it’s my 2nd job. Yeesh.

Fantastic! I love #1. I love how they are all running related in some way. Chicago would be awesome!

I should rack up the miles/dollars, give them to you and you can shop for me. You have fantastic taste.
