Every month or so I go though my wardrobe and purge items that don’t fit me or are at the end of their life cycle (pilly sweaters, t-shirts with holes, etc..) Last week as I was going though my monthly wardrobe purge I had this revaluation, I’m around 10-15 lbs from a new pants wardrobe.  AWESOME, Yes!!!  But as I tried on items I also realized that I have A LOT of the clothes that just don’t fit me anymore.  Most of them of them are tops, blazers and skirts. I lose weight at staggering ratio 3:1, top to bottom.  When I was heavier I rounded out more evenly, but as I’ve lost weight these past two years, my fountain is not as full and my cup does not runnith over.  Extra Large is just that Extra Large.  Most large tops fit, but a medium fits better.  I’m not a size 16 blouse, I’m 10 or a 12. I wear a size 10 suit jacket in most brands (yet my pants are still a size  14-16, a 12 on a good day thanks to my DNA).

In search for new items to wear I looked in the “still doesn’t fit bin”  and I found nothing I could add to what was already hanging in my closet. Apparently I went from a size 6-10 to 16-18 or I got so disgusted with myself that I just got rid of the middle sizes.  Don’t get me wrong, I still have plenty of clothes in my closet but its sort of a hodge podge at the moment and most of what fit me well are summer clothes.  ITS SNOWED HERE YESTERDAY PEOPLE.

So I decided to make a list of thing that I could use that will get me though the 180s and 170s without looking like I’m wearing sacks on a daily basis and that will convert from spring to summer easily.

So what is on the list:
White Trousers
White Blazer (perhaps a white suit that I can mix and match)
Navy Wide Leg Sailor Pants (okay I just really wanted these)
New Pants Suit in beige
3 2 blouses
2 1 A-line skirts
2 3 short sleeved dressy t-shirts
new white t-shirt
2 colorful blazers that mix and match
2 pairs of weekend pants (weekend pants are not work pants and not jeans, sort of casual draw sting pants that can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with flip flops)
white skinny jeans
white straight leg jeans

So to make a long story longer, yesterday I went to Ann Taylor for their 40% OFF Sale (good on full price and sales merchandise) and I purchased the outfit that I’m wearing today.  The first thing I noticed is that I look thinner.  I think that’s know this is because everything fits. It Fits well.  Size 16 be-gone, hello size 12s!

Blouse- Ann Taylor (get it here)
Skirt- Ann Taylor (get it here)
Shoes- Lauren Ralph Lauren
Tights- drug store
Necklace- vintage from my mom
Earrings- gift

On another note, the width of my feet has shrunk.  That rant is for another day and another post.
