Why I wore a silk skirt in January is beyond me?   I was all static, all day. Even rubbing my legs with a dryer sheet didn’t help.  How does one get rid of static in their clothes in January? If you know any tricks let me know.  Because lotion and dryer sheets are not working for me.

Skirt- Talbots (also seen here, with a lot less static!)
Shirt- Zara (also seen here) (similar)
Shoes-  Ecco
Tights- DKNY (best tights EVER!!!)
Earrings- gift
Necklace- Broach on a chain

Those are two of the tricks I use as well. I also purchased an inexpensive can of Static Guard spray which seems to work. If you have a large enough handbag you could take it with you for emergencies. I’ve just lifted my skirt and sprayed it right on my pantyhose and underneath of skirt. In private, of course. haha
    Beautiful colors in your outfit.

Still love and covet this top….

I know of three ways to get rid of static:
    1. Static guard (duh) – I keep a thing in my desk at work, even though I dress like a hobo. Mostly I use it in winter to spray into kids’ hats.
    2. Rub clothes with a dryer sheet, you can use the “free” sheets if you don’t want to smell like a dryer.
    3. Put lotion on your arms/legs. If you are wearing hose, you can put lotion on your hands (rub it almost the whole way in) and then rub your hands on your legs.
(I think water works the same way as lotion.)

    Static guard

My mom always used hairspray. I have no clue if it works or not.

The question is not why are you wearing a silk skirt in January, it is why you are wearing this skirt at all. It has an elastic waist and is pleated and adds ten pounds. And, it’s teal. ‘Nuff said.

And the top looks like my Japanese grandmother’s bathrobe.

Just because something is brand name does not mean it is flattering or fashionable. You are an attractive girl…you need to quit worrying about how much $ you’ve spent and focus on what works for you, even if it’s simple!

O.M.G., it’s unbelievable how rude some people can be….unecessarily.
    Delane, you look beautiful.
Not every single outfit on every single fashion blog is going to satisfy or be to every single person’s taste. If it’s not for you….just move on to something that is instead of soliciting an unasked for negative opinion. I rarely speak out about things like this, but it’s just so uncalled for and if it were me I’d delete the comment. #kindness and support

alibaba – I can see your point that the skirt might make me look heavier with the wide band elasticized waist and fullness. Teal and green are one of my favorite colors so I like to wear them. I very much like color of the skirt. And, I also really like this top.

The price/label had nothing to do with why I purchased it or wore it.

Lisa- I think the person has a good point by pointing out the skirt makes me look heavier. I think people are entitled to their opinions. Criticism is apart of life. Everyone had a different delivery and communication style. Though, I would have framed my comments in a different way.

Well I love that skirt (and also how it looks on you) but I’m sorry it’s so staticy. I have the same problem all winter long–I feel like I walk around shocking people and with my clothes sticking to me!
