I have been looking forward to my business trip this week for many reasons but my NUMBER ONE reason was my chance to FINALLY see the cherry blossoms in DC… IN FULL BLOOM. But thanks to Mother Nature, her wacky humor and 80 degree days in early March they bloomed and peaked last week. Then due to freezing temperatures and wind this week they were mostly gone by the time I arrived.
Prior to returning my rental car, I was able to seek out 6 of the 3000 trees still blooming (National Airport is just 5 minutes from Potomac Park and there was plenty of free parking to hop out and see them). I was disappointed but I still took a walk around Tidal Basin and basked in its beauty. I still hope to see the blossoms one day blooming and at their peak, they are gorgeous. But I’m happy to have seen the remnants of what was a spectacular bloom.

Lucky you !
I havent been there for that spectacular show nature puts up for some years now – at least you got a glimpse.
Is that my scarf’s sister ?
It is the scarf 🙂
