Since moving into our new home  I’ve been searching for interior design inspiration and I’ve become addicted to HOUZZ.  I can spend HOURS looking at gorgeous homes decorated by skilled interior designers.   Of course, when I check my bank account and I’m brought back to reality when I see that that I can’t afford a the most beautiful  chaise lounge chair ever.  Well I can, I just enjoy things like eating and paying my electric bill more.

Our last condo was modern with stone and metal finishes. The condo was open, very square with tall ceiling and huge windows.   My decor was neutral with earth tone accents.   It was a move in ready modern condo in the city and a wonderful place to live.

Our new townhouse is contemporary and cozy.  I’m inspired to decorate with with soft patterns and pops of color.   I want our home to feel comfortable;  a place where you can kick off your shoes, lay on the couch and read a good book.

There is work to be done and finishes to change but even as is, it feels like  home.  Maybe its having a front door or having a garage or maybe its the lack of hot water if Charlie and I shower (in separate showers) simultaneously (oh yeah, we have some plumbing issues and with this we were able to learn how to maintain your drains from PIC Plumbing).  I’m loving living in my new home, being inspired by color and texture,  and taking long hot showers at the gym.

I want a shag rug for my bedroom so desperately!! I just moved as well – so I know how exciting and frustrating this can be. No rush, but post pictures when you are ready to show off your hard work!
