Hit and Run 5K- Getting Ready

I’ve been reading the book Spartan Up! written by the creator of the Spartan Race Series.   The book is about the “Spartan” life strategy.  One of my biggest take-aways from the book is you have to take a first step (perhaps not a takeaway but more of an in my face reminder).    I’m not quite ready to train for nor tackle a Spartan Race but I am ready to train for a few 5Ks.  Building my endurance and regaining my pace is my first step.

I was offered an entry to the Hit and Run 5K in July and thought Why Not? Fun runs are a great way to get a run in without the pressure of chip.

The Hit and Run 5K fun obstacle course that can be run, jogged, or walked depending on your ability. The obstacles are meant to be challenging, but not hard. If you approach an obstacle, but are hesitant, you can go around or watch other racers attempts.   The organizers team up with local charities and donate some of their funds to chosen causes.
The race is July 5th at Toyota Park:  7000 Harlem Avenue, Bridgeview, IL  60455
