I’ve always viewed home meal delivery as home leftover delivery.  Leftover meals are usually not my thing.  Don’t get me wrong, I do eat leftovers but rarely after a day or two (except chili..chili always tastes best  two or three days after it has been made) and rarely for dinner.  So when I was approached by Factor 75 to review some of their meals I was a bit hesitant.  But being the open minded human that I am, I thought why not give them a try?

Factor 75  does not view themselves as a “diet”.  Their meals are built around a nutrition philosophy of  “eat good stuff and everything else will fall into place. ” They don’t view food as whether it will make people thinner or fatter. They select ingredients in their meals by viewing them through a very specific lens: will this food increase performance and quality of life or not?   Factor 75 meals include a significant amount of lean proteins, a healthy dose of low glycemic carbs, and a substantial amount of healthy fat.

I received my Factor 75 meals packed in an insulated box on a Saturday.  Items were well packed and there was little shifting of the food in the box.

I received 4 meals: Bake, Chili, Butternut Squash Lasagna and Paleo Style Pot Roast.   Overall the meals tasted very good.  They reheated well and were flavorful.

The Butternut Squash Lasagna-  Okay folks it was not lasagna,   to be lasagna you need noodles and there was not a noodle to be found. I was a bit disappointed and felt misled but once I got over the lack of pasta in the dish I did enjoy it.    This was actually my favorite meal of the four.   It had great flavor and was very filling.

The Paleo Style Pot Roast. Okay…there was meat and vegetable with a gravy.  This is how I grew up eating Pot Roast so I’m not sure why its Paleo Style.  (I will admit calling things Paleo bugs me.  Meat and Vegetables are not Paleo food..they are food!…stepping off my soap box now). The meat was cooked tender and it was well seasoned. My only issue with this dish was a some of the vegetables were undercooked particularly the parsnips.   I’m not a huge fan of pot roast to begin with, so overall this was my least favorite meal.  It was okay, but nothing spectacular.

The Chili-  It was good.  It was seasoned and the beans were properly cooked.  I liked the corn bread and the fact that real sour cream came with the dish.  Chili always tastes better a few days after sitting in the fridge so I wasn’t surprised that I liked this.

 Factor 75 Chili

The Tostado Bake- This was really spicy. I split this meal with Charlie for lunch one day.  It was very spicy, had great flavor and good texture.  The only thing that was odd was the Jicama was on top of the entree.  I wasn’t sure if I should have removed it prior to reheating or not?  In retrospect, I think the cold against the heat would have been nice.

 Factor 75

Overall, I really liked Factor 75.  The meals had a lot of flavor and were very filling.  I thought the ingredients used were very high quality.  I didn’t fell like I was eating a bunch of garbage food processed in some manufacturing plant.  I would recommend these to anyone who doesn’t cook and is looking for high quality meal delivery or someone looking to help them get on track with eating clean whole food.

Want to give them a try. Use this Factor 75 link  and get a free meal with any order.  Sweet deal!

Disclosure:  I was given four free Factor 75 meals to review.  All opinions are my own.

Thank you so much for the review, Delane! We totally agree with you on having “Paleo” in the name of our meals. We are actually planning on changing the names of some of our meals. Sorry to hear that some of your veggies were undercooked, and we can definitely send you some meals to make up for it!

I’m not sure I understand. Are these supposed to be Paleo meals? Corn bread and sour cream are not Paleo.

Some of their meals are Paelo but not all. When ordering they clearly outline the dietary properties.

RIP OFF!!! This is the absolute worst “gourmet” delivery service I have ever used. The food is beyond lackluster, no flavor and a total rip off in terms of portions. Also, for example the photo showed the taco bowl with a side of cheese and it arrived with a side of shredded ice berg lettuce.
I tried to change my order for the following week and because I am on the pacific time zone, I missed my cutoff to change my order by a few hours. Each and every meal they sent is super spicy, which is something I do not like.
All and all, I have never been more disappointed by a food delivery company, the quality of the food or the horrible customer service. Knowing how upset I was about the first shipment I think they should have tried to save a customer by at least trying to exchange out the spicy meals but they did not.
They are in the process of “changing kitchens” and perhaps this is why the food tastes so horrible.
This was a TREMENDOUS WASTE OF MONEY. BUYER BEWARE!

I’m sorry you had a bad experience. It’s been some time since I did this review. I would suggest contacting their customer support again.
