Global Knife

Sorry for going radio silent for the past two weeks.  Excuse factory coming your way…I came down with a bad bad cold and then I nearly lost the tip of my thumb while cutting a carrot.

WARNING GROSS PICTURE AHEAD!

Finger

The offending instrument, a new Global 7 inch, 18 cm Vegetable Hollow Ground Knife.

Charlie bought me the new knife from wetheknives.com to add to the set he bought me last year for Christmas.  I carefully unpacked the knife and immediately told him to be careful when he used it.  It a heavier knife and EXTREMELY sharp. Well, two days later when I was making dinner I got a bit over zealous when I was chopping a carrot and BAMN……Wholly Mother of EXPLETIVE WORDS…I cut directly thought my finger nail down into my finger stopping just short of the bone yet filleting the tip requiring a stitch to keep it from falling off and glue to keep my nail from ripping away.

Finger Healing

It has been two weeks since my injury and my thumb is on the mend. The outside has healed but it is still store and tip is swollen.

So lessons to be learned here….  Don’t tell you boyfriend to be careful and not expect to ridiculed afterward.

Regular blogging will resume today..thanks for sticking with me!

On Saturday, I was wondering aloud about how everything was going (your thumb, not your blog). Glad to see it is doing better, but boo it is not 100% yet.
