If they had Nachos or if they had a blog apparently because I’ve started this one. I post on another message board with a group of runners and their blogs inspired me to start this one.

The title of the blog is how I feel about running. Its sucks 99% of the time but that one 1%… the 10 seconds before the end and immediately afterward is 100% Euphoria and that’s what keeps me coming back, that 1%.

I have now been running since April. I started with the Couch to 5K. I ran my first 5K in June. I ran over a 13 min pace. Okay, so maybe I’m not running, more like a jog, but to me its a full out sprint! Since then I’ve ran 3 more 5Ks. My pace is getting better since my first. I’ve set a goal to run a 5K under a 12 minute pace this year.

So far the races I have run are:

Jim Gibbons 5K: 6-21~ 41:08/13:15

Bastille5K:7-12~ 36:55/11:55 (I think the course was short/my calculation was that my pace was 13:05 pace)

Nike Rock and Run 5K: 7-14~ 38:41/12:39

I ran a 5K today and in a nut shell it blew! Actually the swag was great (awesome Nike DriFit shirts ) but the race itself was awful. Hot and crowded. It was also my first time out in my new shoes and using the Nike+ system. Needless to say it was not best race. It was the Fleet Feet Woman’s 5K . I did it in 39:52/12:50 which is up from my Nike Rock and Run pace. But I finished and that all that matters to me. My next 5K is in 2 week and I’m looking forward its 1% euphoria.

Way to go D! I’ll bet you’ll have 11 minute splits by the end of the year!

Sorry your race was so annoyingly crowded 🙁
