When it comes to booze I’m not a huge fan of sweet drinks. Sure, I enjoy I cold pina colada on the beach or a margarita with my Mexican food but when enjoying happy hour I prefer my refreshments not to leave a sugar coating on my teeth.
I’ve been on a ginger kick lately and concocted this tasty delight using some great winter citrus. This cocktail is slightly sweet with a spicy kick from ginger.
Ingredients:
juice from a 1/2 Meyer lemon
juice from a 1/2 lime
juice from a 1/2 orange
4 maraschino cherries
1 tbs maraschino juice
1 tsp ground ginger
2-3 splashes bitters
1.5 oz Whiskey
6 oz club soda
makes 1 serving
Directions:
In a glass, muddle ginger, bitters, 3 cherries and cherry juice. Then mix in whiskey, club soda, lemon, lime and orange juice. Pour over ice and top with cherry.
Cheers!

I love that you have this recipe on your blog. I must try it this weekend. It looks amazing.
If you ever make it to Seattle I would suggest you seek out Rachel’s Ginger Beer. It has been my cocktail mixer lately. There is nothing like strong ginger beer and vodka on ice. It’s cold yet warms you right up.
