By far, portion control is the hardest part of eating for me.  My weight is mostly the result of not what I eat, but, how much.  Restraining from second helpings and only one two three four five six ounce of cheese is my weakness.

I love to eat good food. I eat too much good food.

One of the best ways I have found to help me with portion control is really simple — a no brainer really.  I weigh and measure EVERYTHING.

Yes, even the half and half that I put in my coffee.  Lets face it, I love my coffee extra extra creamy and it takes A LOT MORE than 2 tbs of cream in a 12 oz cup of Joe to make it the way I like it. So I measure it and count it.

Measuring cups and spoons can be bulky and take up a lot of drawer space which is why I love the pinch and pours that I found at Williams-Sonoma.  The spoons and cups fan out then collapse.  I keep an extra set in my drawer at work to measure out snacks and for when I hit up the salad bar in the company cafeteria.

Glad that I’m not the only one that can’t “eyeball.”

I have a ton of measuring spoons and cups.
