I’m always looking always for ways to make my favorite foods healthier without sacrificing taste, texture or flavor. Below are 10 of my favorite 100 calorie food swaps.

  1. Drink a glass of water in between each cocktail.  Both your hips and liver will thank you. 2014-12-03 22.43.29
  2. Substitute lettuce leaves for a tortilla wrapCucumber
  3. Skip the chips with your sandwich and eat fresh cucumber slices sprinkled with sea salt and pepper. Taco Bowl
  4. Make a taco/burrito salad instead of a eating 3 tacos or a burrito.  Mix 2 TBS salsa with 1 TBS light sour cream for a quick and delicious dressing.  English Muffin
  5. Swap you bagel for an English Muffin. chips and salsa
  6. Eat salsa with chips instead of guacamole or eat guacamole with fresh vegetable chips like jicama or bell peppers. Do not eat fresh vegetables with salsa, I mean you need to live a little. Eggs and fruit
  7. Have a side of fruit instead of potatoes with your breakfast omlette. Yogurt Shrimp Salad with Fork
  8. Swap out your mayonnaise for yogurt jelly
  9. Slather your bread with a teaspoon of jelly versus a tablespoon of butterPopcorn
  10. Eat popcorn versus chips

    Instead of ice cream or sorbet, swap for frozen grapes or bananas.

    I love using lettuce as wraps. It so good and I feel like I get to eat more that way. I also mix things that go with rice over salad instead. No salad dressing and it tastes just as good!

    “Do not eat fresh vegetables with salsa, I mean you need to live a little. ” – That made me laugh.

    I do the salsa or a quick pico de gallo (cut up tomatoes, cilantro, red onion, jalapeno and lime juice) on taco salads, as well, instead of a Chipotle Ranch Dressing. It tastes better to me.

    And I used Neufatchel Cheese in place of Cream Cheese. It has less fat and it tends to be creamier.

      Nuefatchel is a good sub! I agree with fresh pico vs Chipotle Ranch.
